Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Preliminary Draw Announced
A Football NSW record of 148 clubs from Association, State League and PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues level all found out their fate as the official draw for the 2017 Westfield FFA Cup Preliminary Draw was announced on Wednesday.

The Preliminary Round in NSW will kick off from Round 2 (11th-12th March) where 18 grassroots clubs will go toe to toe with the winner advancing to Round 3 of the knockout competition. Dominating this round will see an all local Bankstown Association derby as the Bankstown RSL Dragons entertain Padstow United while for the first time in the Cup’s history, Gerringong Breakers FC make the long trip to the Hills Districts where they will face Norwest FC. While another team will be making its maiden run into the cup with Football Wagga’s Tumut Eagles FC traveling to Sydney taking on a club that was first founded by Sydney FC fans, Lokomotiv Cove FC from the Eastern Suburbs Association.
Round 3 (18th-19th March) will see a massive 116 clubs introduced, along with association clubs, Men’s State League and PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues 3 NSW Men’s clubs will face off against each other in do or die games across NSW. With so many interesting and captivating encounters such as Auburn FC taking on the Glebe Gorillas, Albion Park White Eagles facing Peakhurst United JFC, the all Mens 3 battle between Hawkesbury City and Gladesville Ryde Magic to the Wagga City Wanderers travelling to Sydney’s West to tackle the Revesby Rovers, one thing’s for sure, there are certainly a number of interesting match ups scheduled.
Round 4 (5th April) will see the introduction of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League Men’s and PlayStation 4 NPL 2 NSW Men’s sides with all clubs hoping that they could be one of the five lucky teams to represent NSW in the official Westfield FFA Cup draw later in the year.
Rounds 5 (19th April), 6 (3rd May) and lucky round 7 will soon follow on Wednesday 17th May concluding what looks to be one of the biggest and best Westfield FFA Cup Preliminary rounds yet.
2016 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Champions Sydney United 58 FC have already won a coveted spot in this year’s Round of 32 after clinching a spot defeating Edgeworth Eagles 4-1 at Edensor Park last year.
Football NSW Westfield FFA Cup Coordinator Connor Ellis was thrilled to have had a record number of entries from Association clubs across NSW.
“The proof is in the pudding that the Westfield FFA Cup is certainly at its pinnacle since its inaugural year in 2014.
“The interest for the Cup has grown from strength to strength and to have received a number of new entries especially at Association level was fantastic.
“Grassroots clubs really want to be part of what is a huge tournament and we can only wish them nothing but the best.
“Football NSW is eagerly anticipating what will be a very competitive Preliminary Round process which will be jam packed with entertainment and excitement making this a year not to be missed by any avid Football fan with a flurry of matches being played across NSW.”
